DDS' iDesk product director, Kelly Petersen, participated in the eBusiness Solutions panel discussion at the IAB Ad Operations Summit, held November 16, 2009 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City.
Three of the panelists – DDS, Univision Interactive Media and Operative – comprise, together with Solbright, a proof of concept group that is verifying full eBusiness interactions according to the IAB spec for Requests for Proposals and Proposals. The ultimate goal of the proof of concept group is to streamline the buying and selling of digital media by implementing completely electronic transactions between trading partners. Each participant presented a status report on the proof of concept roadmap.
In 2009, DDS enabled trading partner interaction at
the data level. DDS' iDesk tool for digital planners seamlessly imports
proposals sent by publishers in Excel format. Coming soon in 2010, agencies will
be able to receive proposals in the IAB XML format, sent directly from sales
systems. Up next will be the transmission of the agency Insertion Order via the
IAB XML format, eradicating manual entry of data throughout the digital buying
process.
“The IAB's dedicated efforts
towards defining standard specifications for digital has enabled the industry to
move forward so quickly. The great cooperation we're receiving from the proof of
concept participants – Univision, Operative and Solbright – is helping us meet
our milestones in providing digital eBusiness solutions,” says
Petersen.
